A child’s first five years are incredibly important.

Research shows that children’s early experiences, environments, and relationships shape how their brains develop. These early experiences make a difference in kindergarten readiness.

That is why it is so critical for children to have high-quality care and education during the first 5 years of life. The benefits of high-quality early care and education last a lifetime. For example, children who have a quality start are more likely to do well in school, attend college, and have successful careers.

The SCC R&R Program is here to help families find the resources and information they need as they search for childcare, look for resources to support their child's development, find community resources, and find any other assistance they might need as they search for childcare.

Use the navigation panel on the right to learn more about childcare referrals, choosing quality childcare, how to pay for childcare, and many other resources for families.
